When I raise or lower the front jacks on the Cruiser I hear a "clanking" noise that seems to be coming from the rear suspension. I have heard this noise all along but it seems a bit louder lately.

Anyone have an idea as to what I am hearing?

Carefully examine the linkage/springs etc. If nothing found have Karen raise/lower the jacks while you are in the back listening. Not sure what it might be but this is where I would start. Keep us posted.

I think I would take a flash lite and let someone do the up and down while you try to locate the noise. I would also check the welds around the spring area and the schackle bolts.

Just a thought------Do you have the Equa-Flex suspension, does it have the wet bolt, (with grease zerks)If so have you greased them? Before I put the wet bolt kit in ours, it use to make some pretty loud noises back there.

It almost sounds like a ratchet. Lloyd, we do have Trail-Aire suspension on the coach.

Just was at the RV repair place where I described the issue of the ratcheting noise. The owner said it was nothing but the springs making the noise. If I wanted, I could try to get some lubricant into the bolts but he thought that was almost impossible. He stated that wet bolts used to be the norm but no longer. Bottom line: don't worry about the noise as he said it was a normal thing.

Artgpo I don't know your dealer but I'm not impressed. From the factory they have nylon bushings that may make a few thousand miles . Wet bolts have bronze bushings and greese fitings on the bolts. I know on my camper I put the wet bolts in 25,000 miles ago and have no wear, no clanging or banging at all. Check your shackel plates and see if the bolt noles have started to streach.

This guyowns a large private RV repair place where we store our Cruiser. The man is as honest and reliable as the day is long. I have not been able to get him to make a single repair as he tells me what is wrong and how to simply fix it myself. The business he owns is very successful because of his honesty. He told me this issueis very common and not to be concerned. Before I take the RV out again I will carefully inspect the rear suspension asit is possible he could possibly be wrong. You guys are right way more than you are wrong and that is the reason I come here for second (mostly first) opinions.

My unit makes that exact same noise from time to time. I mostly notice it when I unhook in my driveway and most of the weight is on the back of the trailer due to the angle of my driveway.

When I back into the driveway my trailer will be at 4 to the right of 0 on the front/ rear level and when unhooked level I'm at 2.5 to the left of 0 on the front / rear level. I hope this makes sense / described accurately.

I have chalked it up the the leave springs / Equa-Flex moving.
