Parking On Grass
The "RV Resort" I'm reserved at for next week, it looks like most of the parking is on grass. They have concrete for the patio only. Any problem with parking on grass? I've never done it. Always gravel or concrete. Just wondering if I'll get the trailer all level and it might sink down on one side or something.
Also wondering if I should take some 2x8's to roll up on. With the spread out axles I have it would take at least a 7 footer, maybe 8 if I need to use my anderson levelers.
Since I only have a 6.5 ft bed on my truck I'd have to cut them at 4 ft and put them end to end if I did it.
Another thing is the jacks. I have 6x6's to put under the jacks because the trailer sets so high if I don't I pretty much max out all the jacks. Wonder why they put such short jacks on such a tall trailer? The 6x6's work ok on concrete, I guess they'll be ok on grass?

We park on grass all winter in Florida. There is sometimes a bit of settling, but it has never been a major problem. We put boards under the wheels and use those orange blocks under the jacks.

Lotta variables on parking in the grass, even gravel for that mater.
Has the RV park gotten a lot of rain lately?
How long will you be parked in the same place?
Can you Put the 2x8s on the floor in the trailer while traveling?
Safe travels!

I don't know, it's 1,000 miles away. Going to be there 2 weeks this time.
My front compartment's pretty full, I think I'll just cut them to 4 ft and put them in my truck along with the 6x6's.

We get our share of rain here in Florida. When it rains, it really comes down. We have not noticed any problems. For two weeks, I would not worry about it.

harley is right.
There is no need to be hauling anything longer. Your tires only sit on a very short space.

I will say I left a pair of those at a new park in houston when they sank into the mud so much I wasn't going to spend the time to pull them out
You can have those two... !!!!

I use pieces of Trex decking. Attach a piece of rope and they're easy to pick up. Will not rot or split.

I cut two 1 x 10's with 45's on each end. The longest to just fit in my bed, the other a couple inches shorter so you can stack them for seriously uneven sights. Works just perfect for my rig...a few inches to spare either side of the tires. I don't have to worry about the smaller boards squirting out when you try and pull up on them as they sometimes will...

I made the final determination, just park the tires on the grass.
use Anderson levelers if necessary, hopefully they won't be necessary.
I think I may have over thought this whole thing.
Hopefully it works out.
