Please help!

I have a 2008 crossroads cruiser 29rk and my ac is not blowing cold air. It's just blowing warm air an I'm in El Paso Texas for the weekend any help would be appreciated. Where should I start? Thanks Darryn.

If it were me I would go to the office of the campground that I was staying and ask them if they could recommend a mobile RV repair service...If not I would search the internet for that area for a mobile RV service or an air conditioner tech...

If your question was more about how could you diagnose the problem, I am sorry to say I can not help....I am NOT good with heat and would not mess around with trying to fix it myself and would go right to a professional that could get the air conditioner working ASAP....

GOOD LUCK

Make sure you are not set to fan instead of AC. Otherwise, I would call a mobile rv repair guy. Good luck

Does your 2008 camper have a digital thermostat.??? I had a 2007 Cruiser and the thermostat was analog...I can't remember if there was an auto setting on that thermostat...I had to set the 2007 Cruiser thermostat manually to either heat or cool...If I remember correctly...

It has an analog thermostat. I have it set on auto and cool and fan hi. I have a feeling it's something to do with the compressor. On the inside of the camper there is a small electrical panel hopefully I can diagnose it from there. I appreciate everyone's comments.

There is a chance that the start capacitor failed. Which is a common is. Does the compressor actually start? Or not?

I can't hear it start. I am going to try to replace that. Do you know if that capacitor is located under the ac unit?

I have worked on a lot of motors and a lot of central air units, but have not had to work on the tt ac yet.

I would imagine the hard start capacitor kits they sell have instructions on line and they would tell you were to look on your unit.

Just remember if it is charged up you don't want to discharge it with your hand or fingers.

This is a link that shows some information on a Coleman AC unit.
I typically just get a matching replacement capacitor from Graingers. The plastic bodied ones pictured in this link have a high failure rate.

Thanks guys for all the help. I installed a new hard star capacitor and it's not getting cold. I am wondering if I really even hear the compressor starting. Tonight I will climb on the roof and make sure. There is another capacitor up there I might need to check it too

I am not questioning "your skills", but know that some things are better left to a professional.

I fixed it!

Ok guys so I put a new hard start capacitor in it and it didn't fix it but the compressor was working previous so I wasted money on that. But what fixed the problem is I recharged the system and now it works better than the day I bought it. Only cost me $30 today is a great day!

Can you elaborate a bit on the recharging? I was under the impression these a/c units did not have recharge ports (never actually looked) and it would be a pain to recharge them. Did the technician have to do anything special to attach the gauges and recharge it?

I also thought that Rv Ac's could not be recharged until I saw this video.
