Posting Pictures

Hi Folks,Cwit - myDH -would like me to post a picture of his truck & 5er and I hate to admit it but I can't do it (that'snot easy for a wife to admit) !!!I've tried everything.Can someone please help me with this....step by step? I do have a picture on photobucketbut I need to know how smallit should be&where to put it...on this forum. If there's any easier place than photobucket, just let me know.This info is apt to save a marriage! lol. Many thanks, Linda

Hi Linda:



There are several things that you will need to do.



1: First cllick on the "Member Control Panel" at the top of the Forum page.

2: Next clickEdit Profile

3.You can then fill in the personal information blanks and when you get to the Signaturesection you will fill in what information youwant to show in your Signature. This is where your picture goes. You may ormay not need to resize it.

4. To insert the picture open another screen and then go to Photobucket and open the Album where the picture is stored andplace your cursor onthe picture. Underneath the picture you will see 4 links to the picture. Highlight and copy the Img code link.

5. Return tothe Signature section and paste the link that you just copied into the Signaturesection.

6. You will be able to preview the information that you have inserted as well as the picture by clickingSignature Preview.

7. If you are happy with what you have done and you want your Signature to be attached to all posts, then click Yes on the"Always attach my Signature to posts"

8. At the bottom of the page click "Update Profile" and you are done.



If you click the BBcodes link under the Signature Section a page will come up that lists the links to use to add pictures, e-mail, and blogs.

Thanks so much. Sounds easy enough. Never thought to look under the signature. I kept going to the advatar and then the picture was SO tiny when I resized it. Anyhow, I'll give this a shot & hopefully you'll see a picture by tomorrow...Thanks again, Cwit & Linda

If you want to use the picture URL from Photobucket, just make sure that when you key in your signature and add the picture URL, the total number of characters in the signature box, including the URL does not exceed 200. I found this out when I set up my signature. I brought this the attention of CR Moderator and they are looking into raising the limit.

I've edited my profile & previewed my signature and sure enough, the picture is there. But, when I type this post & click "preview post" the picture doesn't show. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I did click update profile at the bottom & the next screen did indicate it had been updated.

Thanks Chris. It took me more than a year to get that pic in my signature on the old forum. Got it on the first try this time.Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks.
