SleepyT has a great suggestion for us all...
especially for those twist and turn connectors...
the problem is,
even with a perfect pedestal and cord set,
during that little SECOND it takes to get the cord fully seated,
there is just a partial connection and with the power on,
it's GOING to jump and arc across a smaller section of the plug. Especially if you have 'stuff' on in the rv that demands electricity.
on my previous 5er I would always plug in the rv end first - since it was a push, twist, and turn to lock -
then turn off the breaker on the pedestal, then plug in and turn on the breaker...
now, I opted for one of
these and that's the first thing I plug in to see if the pedestal power is good ... well worth it IMHO !
