Propane Problems

We just returned from Door County Wisconsin and had a problem with our propane system. On the way up, the regulator went bad and I replaced it. The stove, fridge, and water heater are working, but the bumper mount grill at the camp is not working. I took it apart as best I could and cleaned it and blew out the burner. I even ordered a new grill from Amazon and that didn't work. The only thing that I can think of is the quarter turn quick connect valve. Does anyone have any thoughts on the problem? If it is the valve, what kind of a replacement do I need? Thanks for your help.

Disconnect the hose from the grill, turn on the gas to see if it is flowing. If not turn off the gas at the tank, remove the 1/4 turn valve and see if you get gas when the tank is turned on. That should isolate where the problem is.

When you remove the gas cock blow through it to see if its clear. I may have too much valve grease on it or the shaft might be broken.

If the steps above don't help...
Propane driven grills, especially propane because of it hot burning temp's, require very small brass orifices to mix the gas with air to get flame. After "interrupting" the gas flow with the regulator change, you can have very small debris floating down the gas line, possibly plugging that orifice.
I'd find access to the orifice (just after the low to high grill valve) and blow it out or, use a small paper clip to clean. The orifce mght be even small then the diameter of a small paper clip so use caution not to enlarge.

Thanks above for the help. When we were camping, I disassembled the grill as best I could and cleaned out the grill with compressed air in the burner tube, burner and by the orifice. I even ordered a new grill from Amazon, connected it and still no success. The only thing left is the valve. I am taking it off tomorrow and going to the local Jayco dealer to see if they have a replacement. Thanks for your help.

Success. Thanks to everyone for your help. I got the valve off and replaced it with a new one. In examining the old valve, there was a lot of gunk on the inside of the valve. Probably paste residue from putting the new regulator on. Now it is one to the next project of replacing the awning tube lights. Ugh. Are we having fun yet...lol.
