I just did my maiden trip in my used 07 Cruiser 31QB, and one of the only issues is that the water pump won't pull water from the tank. It will pull in on the winterization tube, so it does prime just fine. I connected to the tank tube and tried to suck in some water myself, and I can neither suck up water nor blow bubbles into the tank. Any ideas what could be wrong here?

Are you sure you have enough water in the fresh water tank. The pick-up is on the side of the tank. As a result the tank has to be over 1/3 full to work reliable. If the trailer is not level it may take more than 1/3 tank. One of the things I do not understand with the Cruiser.

Yes, I had it completely full- I thought that was the problem at first. Of course, before leaving camp I had to dump the whole tank out on the ground...

The hose is attached with a hose barb at the tank. This could be lose if when you blow through or suck on the tube and have no resistance. If there is resistance the hose may be kinked stopping the flow.

Thanks for the replies - yes, I get full resistance - I get no air or water passing when sucking or blowing on the line.

We had the same thing happen on our boat. The problem was hard water buildup on the filter screen. Once we cleaned the screen we were back in business.

Chris is right about barb at the tank.
On ours, that fitting with the barb screws out and there is a screen type of filter on the other end of it. (in the Tank) This might be plugged or coated over with something.

Have you tried city water. it could be a check valve stuck not allowing the water from tank.
