Hunter, Or anybody who has put Eternbond tape on, do you just put it over the old caulking? Would like to hear the different ways people have done it, and the results they had. Thank you.
I carefully cut down any high spots of the caulk, cleaned the seam with the eternabond cleaner, and then laid down the 4" tape over the seam and then roll it down. If you have to the piece the run, start from back to front so the joint is not into the wind.
Will not stick to silicone caulk.

Larry, I used Ethyl rubbing alcohol to clean the surface before I put the tape down. Just be sure you have the surface "clean and dry", before starting.
The only thing I trimmed off was the big high gobs of what ever it was they used on the screws attaching the strip on the front cap.
Be careful when you start and make sure you have it positioned where you want it. It doesn't come back off.
