Question About Built-In Fireplace

Does anyone know what is behind those built-in fireplaces to protect the trailer from the heat? I am worried that the heat might build up.

Mine has a lot of was6ed space behind it, but it doesn't make much heat back there, the fan blows the heat out the front.

I use ours to heat the camper in Spring and Fall with no issues. The heat is generated by a heat strip/fan system. I'm a former firefighter and this is one safety related thing that doesn't bother me.

Had a fireplace in a 2006 Holiday Rambler that apparently shorted out and the heating unit melted down. It charred the inside wood framing but didn't actually cause it to burn although there was a lot of smoke.

Personally, after that, I wouldn't use one unless I was watching it.

We take ours out in the summer for more storage space for Grands toys, and then put it back in for the fall and spring.
