Re-enforcing my Dinette Seat Back

I'm looking for some advice from some of the DIYers out there. Not exactly sure how it happened, I think one of the kids kicked the seat back that butts up against the trifold sofa loose while it was converted into a bed on one of our recent trips. I'd like to re-enforce it in some way it so it doesn't happen again.
I've thought about using some slotted galvanized steel angle iron I have laying around, but would rather use a 1x1 or 1x2 so I can stain it to match the decor. Thoughts?
Additionally, would it be better to screw the wood into the wall, not knowing exactly what's behind there or use some construction adhesive to mate it to the wall.
Thanks in advance!

Large "L" brackets mounted under the cushions would probably work as well. If your looking for something to go from the floor to the top on the back side between the seat back and sofa, I would use 1x2 stained to match.

I'll be removing mine shortly and replacing with a table & four chairs.

Mine came away from the wall at the top also. Caused by stepping in the slide to get to the back of the camper when the slide is 'in'.
-1st thing...make 3 pieces of 3/4" plywood about 12x12" and slide them under the leading edge of slide after it is in. the one in the middle fits under the edge of the dinette seat back . that will allow steping on the slide when in and not pulling the seat back from the wall. 9You will notice that if you lift the carpe edge up when the slide is in ,the dinette seat back will push against thel wall again.
-2nd.. you will have to take the piece of wood(1/8'luan)behind the seat back cushion off. then you will see the cheap assembly..Get long angle brackets and start reinforcing all corners. There may be an alum brace behind the spot that the back joins the wall to screw to ....NOT long screws...measure the depth of the wall.

Thanks for the input.
After looking at things closer, all the staples had come out connecting the backing to the 1/2" furring strip. I just went to the hardware store and picked up some 2 1/2" brass Inside Corner Braces and used one on the outer wall and 2 on the inner wall of the dinnette.
I'll see how that holds up before trying to used a 1x2, there just isn't enough room with the sofa there.
Here are a couple of pics.

John,

Looks like that would do the trick. How is it holding up? When you screwed into the slide wall, what type of screws did you use or what did you find that you were screwing into? Obviously I don't want those screws to just pull out.

See if you can find some short winged moly anchors.
You don't want them very long. The slide out walls are not very thick.

Dave,
It's holding up well, been 5 years since I made that repair.
I dont remember what type of screws I used or what I screwee it into... wish I had seen this earlier, I just came back from prepping for this weekend's trip.
I'll stop by storage tomorrow on my way home from work.
Thanks for your service!

I put it alongside a water bottle cap to give you a better idea20200903_183824.jpg20200903_184601.jpg

If you replaced the dinette with a table and chair set- can you tell me what you used or where you order it from. Thanks
