Rear Bumper mounted accessories

We just picked a new Sunset Trail 239bh and it came equipped with a rear bumper mounted grill as a factory option. Whomever installed it cranked in on so hard it warped the bumper to the point I cant install the end cap with out difficulties. It also means I cant get my sewer hose to fit. They also did the same with the spare tire. I can get the cover on that side but the sewer hose wont feed past where the spare tire is mounted. Are those dealer installed or factory installed. Trying to figure out whom to tell at room have it fixed.

If you have to have the bumper replaced try to get one that is a thicker gauge than the factory issue.

I would contact the dealer you purchased the unit from. They should tell you the information you need.

Personally I wouldn’t carry my hose in the bumper. I’ve seen them wear a hole from bouncing around in there. I mount a pvc hose carrier underneath the camper. Can get them at Camping World.

You state you just picked up your camper. Is it new? If so take it back to the dealer and see if they will replace the bumper? If not a "GOOD" welding shop can install a heaver gauge bumper. You would need "thick wall 4" tube" and it would be better than the factory one.

Watch out on getting a thicker walled 4" square tube to replace the factory bumper. The size decreases on the inside. My Rhino sewer hose just barely fits in the factory bumper. Going to the next size (.120 wall) would probably mean that my sewer hose needs a new home.

I purchased a square plastic/pvc fence post. Maybe they called it a corner post.
Also got the cap for it, which I remodeled so it could be hinged. I mounted this under the trailer behind the tires. Holds all the sewer hose and fittings you would care to put in there.

You need to ask for 4" id heavy wall or my metal supplier has it in 1/4" increments in the heavy wall. Or a lot do like Lloyd and add a square or round tube for the sewer hose.

I did the corner posts as well. Mounted them on the frame on both sides of my unit and spray painted them black. Got about 50 ft of hose in them. Have needed all 50ft at times. LOL
