Cool Recessed Lighting and 12V receptacles

I recently installed a solar plug on the exterior of the 5th wheel for my portable solar panel. I found that the 12V receptacles that I intended to install are too deep for the walls of the camper. I also am unable to figure out how to remove the recessed lighting to get to the 12V wires to install the receptacles. The wiring in these units is really hidden. Any guidance on how to remove the recessed lighting to gain access to the wiring or any other suggestions on installation of 12V receptacles. The idea is simply to charge tablets, phones, and my computer. Thanks!

Do you have a 12V plug in the TV area? (for a 12 V TV) there should be 12V volt there.
You should be able to purchase the shallow boxes you need at any hardware store that sells electrical supplies.

Unfortunately in our 2015 Cruiser there is not a 12V receptacle. I've looked hard for a shallow 12 V receptacle but they are inherently too deep. Do you have a link or picture of what you are describing? Thanks so much!
