Refreshing the skirts

The skirts on my 2013 are looking a bit rough. I use a carnuba wax on the trailer and while I didn't get any on the skirts when I waxed it the past couple years, it looks like the run-off from the trailer has turned them milky white.

My question is whether to use a product like "Back to Black" which I use on my vehicles or a good enamel plastic paint.

The back to black is basically a permanent dyed shoe polish.

The color on my 300BH trim (tire cover, propane cover, skirts) almost looks more like a really dark brown vs black, but it could be the natural light giving me that shading.

As always any advice is appreciated!

It looks kinda brown cause it is fading. Tape it up and spray it with Krylon black for plastic. Will brighten it up nicely.

If you are going to paint the skirts, be sure to prep them well. Painted mine and the wax residue that was on the skirts from previous waxing of the rig cause fish eyes in the painted surface. Had to go back and sand the skirts down well and wipe them down with acetone to get them clean enough to get a good painted surface.

Flathead,

Thanks for the advice. That was exactly my concern about painting the skirts. I don't understand how so much wax buit up on the skirts. I was careful when waxing the trailer. I think it was runoff over time from the side of the trailer.

A lot of oil and grime from the roadway also accumulates on the skirts. That prevents the paint from sticking also.
