I bought a smaller fridg to use out in the garage when I am smoking venison and such. It's not very big. 14 cu. foot Amana. I just went out and hooked the watt meter to it. On start up it read 245 watts, then settled down to 155 watts.
I didn't realize they were putting that size residential fridg. in the new units. WOW!
As far as needing a large battery bank for when you are running down the road, I don't see that as necessary. The charging system on the TV should take care of it then with appropriate inverter.
