Roof Bulge

Just uncovered our 2012 Sunset Trail for the first time this camping season and there is a bulge in the roof. If you press on down on it it tries to stick to what is underneath and then pops back up.
We condition this roof every winter before we store and cover it. It is a no walk roof and of course it is out of warranty. Husband wants to take some galvanize screws to it and then caulk over those screws. We called crossroads and the customer service person suggested cutting and buying a patch to put in its place but Camping World suggested we do not cut that roof because a TPO roof can not be cut without completely being replaced.

Anyone else had this problem or have suggestions.

First off---are you saying just the rubber membrane is what is bulging up? Like a bubble? If so, how big is it?

I don't think you have TPO material on the roof. I think you have EPDM.

I think cross roads knows more about it then camping world. The plywood under the membrane is suppose to be fastened to the rafters. Either stapled, screwed, nailed, and possibly glued along with one of the fore mentioned.
If it is in fact the plywood bubbling up, and it was mine. I would get some eternabond tape, cut it open, screw it back down and apply the tape.

Or if you don't want to do it yourself, find a reputable dealer that you can trust and pay them to do it.

ok thank you for replying. We are just beside ourselves that only 3 years into this RV we are having roof troubles. It is expensive and why we work so hard to maintain good care of it so we won't have large repair bills. It sounds like you are on the same page as my husband about how to fix it . Just made me nervous when camping world said if it was TPO we would have to replace whole roof. Guess I will try to get crossroads to answer for me today whether it is or is not TPO roof.
thank you again

My guess is that Camping World wants to sell you a new roof. I would follow Lloyd's advice if I were you. Good luck!
