Driving down the highway my wife and I always look at the shadow of the rig. It's a good way to check things out. Yesterday my wife noticed some thing flapping. The rig isn't even five years old.

That is the front of the rig, but there does look like water damage there.

Front corner and yes. Looks like it has been leaking there for a while.

That's really upsetting to see, especially on an RV that's not even 5 yrs old. The back corner does look like it has a darker stain like it has been exposed to the weather, or it might just be glue residue.

I wonder is that covered under the 5 yr warranty ? It sure does look like it has some water damage on that frontal area.

I would guess---------only if it has had the annual inspection, it was documented.

I called my dealer about the annual inspection for my Cruiser. It would cost me $200 each year plus materials and labor if they had to do anything. I choose to self insure and fix problems found. Sorry to see such damage. Old Farmer let us know what the final outcome is and how much it cost to have it repaired. Agin sorry for your loss and trouble. I like your looking at the shadow of the trailer. Often I look for shadows behind the trailer to see if some one isdrafting me.

I have seen this on my unit as well. When it was new there was a problem with the area where the rubber met the cap. I took it to the dealer and it was repaired ... but at the two year this same thing happened . The damage was not as bad but had to replace the front 4 feet of the roof at my cost. I inspected the roof before cleaning a couple times a year and it happens.

My understanding is after 2 years it is just the structure that is covered. My fix cost me 2 grand

My Cruiser is in the shop now for some final factory warranty repairs before that warranty expires at the end of next month. The dealer is also performing the annual roof inspection. Last year, at ExploreUSA's San Antonio facility, it cost me $65 and that included some Dicor on a couple of places and tightening loose screws. This year the inspection cost $55 at ExploreUSA's Denton, TX shop. The seal around the front cap needs some sealing so that is another $55. Small price to pay to protect against the above issues.

Eric, did you have any "air bubbles" in the front area? I do and it was documented on my initial PDI. Just wondering if you had the same issue and if that was a contributing factor.

It appears you may have had the same issue I did, but fortunately I caught it during one of my at least 3 walks on the roof each year. The roofing membrane had pulled out from under the banding strap that laps the front cap and the membrane. I was able to re-attach at a minimal cost/effort. Sorry that yours got beyond that point.

I'm doubtful it will be covered by any warranty. The thought of fighting for warranty for this trailer again just tires me. The roof manufacturer is not at fault nor is Crossroads. The problem is from my dealer. He removed and replaced the front cap looking for an electrical short (long story some of you may remember) I told him I thought the roof was inflating and he said it was nothing to worry about. I was going to fix the inflating problem myself before our next long trip. This was just a little run I thought I could sneak in. I'm going to talk to my insurer or probably fix it myself.

You sure it wasn't Rocky?????
I'm pretty sure he was still angry the last we heard from you!
Couldn't help it Eric. Sorry about the roof. Maybe the dealer will be embarssed enough tpo chip in on the cost.

We have a 2011 27RLX CTX. On the campers third trip out we were pulled over on the Interstate by a passing vehicle. The whole front half of the roof had seperated creating a huge bubble. The molding and vents were the only thing holding the roof down. Ourunit isn't even a year old and is stored inside. The roof was covered by the warranty andCrossroads instructed the dealer to replace the entire roof. The dealer told me that the seperation was caused either by poor glue application or faulty glue at the factory. The final cost was pushing $3000. A little over $400 in parts and the rest was labor. Fortunately it didn't cost us a dime. Hopefully this roof will last much longer.

I have noticed small air pockets in several places on my roof. Is that an indication that it was not glued down properly and that I might be having the same problem as whereRwe in the future?

Note the locations, take pictures and then have the dealer evaluate and give you a writtenevaluation. Always document. Not all "bubbles" are an indication of a problem but they should be looked at by the dealer.
