Roof Loading (weight limit)

Well, this has to be a common question, but a simple search didn't return any info.

I own a 2008 Seville, I'm 6' 8" and weight 355 pounds.

I'm getting tired of sending my wife and kids on top to pull the cover on or inspect the roof.

I see video's of two men standing on the roof of a travel trailer, will my RV roof hold my weight? (I'd really like to know if someone of similar size has been up there...I don't need a new skylight).

No disrespect here...but I would not climb up on that roof at 355#.

I cautiously walk on our roof, and I only weigh 140#. Hope this info helps.

Might be worth it to hire a mobile rv service to inspect the roof and to cover it.

I've been up on mine I'm 285ish and only when I was stepping on 3/4" foam board spanning multiple trusses. I only did it once to install my vent covers. All other inspections, cleaning and repair work I do from my ladder or rental scaffold.

I wouldn't do it.

I don't get on mine anymore - and it's not because of weight

my eyes KNOW they are 20 foot up in the air and that concrete street looks uncomfortable !!!!


AND, the fact that we have covered storage helps that decision too !

NOW, if I HAD to I could, but I'd put down something to distribute the weight AND be very careful not to step on any sealant on the joints...
