Just joined the forum and wanted to pass on to all the ladies how to make your oven work better. If you have problems with uneven baking and getting things browned on top, put a clay floor tile (found at Lowes and Home Depot for a couple dollars) on the oven rack and sit your baking pan directly on top of it. Works beautifully!

I bought 4 un-glazed floor tiles about 4X4 set them on the heat plate above the flame, works great. It dispruses the heat much more evenly, also set the timer at 1/2 of the finish time, when times up rotate pan, set timer for 1/2 of finish time. Doing these two things will help tremendously.

Just make sure you take it out and put it in a safe place while on the road. If not sooner or later you will open the oven to find a cracked tile. Voice of experiance....

My DW says that she has problems cooking with a propane oven. Hmmmmm I'm starting to see a common thread here that makes me believe it might just be an excuse ;-) Maybe I should take the racks out and put in some shelving for storage.

This is a hoot. Our previous trailer had an oven and went unused for 15 years. Our new one doesn't have an oven so I guess it really doesn't make much difference.

why use my propane when I can use the campground electricity....electric frying pans, slow cookers, griddles, etc.
The oven is used for storage and, occassionally, to keep something warm.
Cake and pies...bake them at home.
Btw, I do have a pizza baking stone to get an even temp.Edited by: seabee
