I was on my way home from my second camping trip in our new Cruiser 28RKX. On the way home I decided to stop and fill up at a BP Truck Stop, feeling there would be plenty of room. I pulled in and the pumps at the first 2 islands were covered with plastic "out of service" markers. So, of course I drove around and decided to try the other "end" island. Well, I almost made it but misjudged a little and scraped the bottom portion of my unit. Some of the brown paint has been scraped to the skin. I have written to CR but don't know how long that will take. I asked a couple of the other members on here if I can treat it like a car and use some buffing polish to take out the scratch's and then wax it to protect it. If anyone has any experience with this or if the thought's are I should get some "touch-up" paint from either CR or an auto store please let me know. Of course the bottom line would be "what is the color and ID #" of the paint. Any help would be appreciated.

Would need pictures of the damage in order to say whether it would buff out with compound or polish. If it is right through to the metal below then the anwser is nope it won't work.

Crossroads sent touchpaint with my new 2013 CF345RF 5 wheel, if yours came with some it might be an option after touching up the scrape...

Pic's would give us a better idea

The lower brown part is probably aluminum so it won't rust. Call Randy at Crossroads service center and see if he will send you some touchup paint.

Dale,
Thanks, now that you mention it, it does look like aluminum...it is very shiny. Do you know where I can find a number for Randy?

Thanks,
Jim

Unfortunately we no longer have the access to Randy that we once had. CrossRoads now has two people in place, Chris and Tom, who are taking calls and responding for Randy. My understanding is that they find out what the problem is, discuss it with Randy and respond back to the customer.

I have a couple of issues that I called Randy on earlier in the week. I received a call from Chris yesterday and today regarding those issues. He said that Randy had asked him to respond for him.

I am not sure how this is going to work out. Hopefully it will result in quicker responses from Randy and CrossRoads.

George,
Thanks, I guess I'll see how far Topeka is from Carmel and if it's not too far a stretch maybe it will be easier for me to drive there as I'm heading to Carmel Saturday for a week with my wife and the trailer. She's working, I was going to fish and golf. I'd rather not drive there if I don't have to but not knowing how long it will be until they get back to me...I cannot be sure I want to wait that long.

Thanks again,
Jim

Jim:

I called Randy on Tuesday and Chris called me on Wednesday so a quick turn around. I like talking to Randy because he is so knowledgeable about almost anything. However, having the two additional guys talking to customers should speed up the process and get things done faster. Randy gets involved with issues in the shop and sometimes doesn't get to answer phone calls and e-mails for a couple of days. Hopefully this new system will get a quicker response.

George,
I emailed the help desk yesterday and first thing this morning I got a reply from Tom Sanford asking me for pictures...I cannot ask for a quicker response than that. Thanks for your suggestion...I'm glad I didn't go over the deep end like some others do
