Screen porches

I was wondering if anyone has ever used one of the screened porches made to connect to your awning? I like some I have seen online but im a little worried about wind. I see people anchor their awnings down . But I havent ever tried that either.

I ALWAYS anchor the awning...since we saw an awning laying on top of a tt, after a thunderstorm roared thru the campground.

Are you talking about the sun screen that hangs down on the front of the awning, or something else?

I have one of those on my to do list for this year.
What I have seen of them being used by others is yes, they are staked down so the wind doesn't shake them around, and yes on the anchoring the awning down also.

We have used them on a different 5th. They cut about 25% of the heat. Did help with the A/C inside also. Cutting the heat when opening the door. We had all three sides covered.

I was thinking of one of the screen rooms made by care free colorado. Camping world sells a couple of models. I thought when I was camped for a couple months at a time it would be VERY NICE!

We also have electric awning on our Jefferson. We just bring them in at night. Too spendy to replace if the wind comes up overnight. Which it has happen here. I have use cement blocks to anchor them down.

I drilled a hole down the middle. Then used a eye bolt to anchor the strap too.

We usually use the screw in anchors, but if just a short stay will use buckets of water ...
i.e. say 8 lbs per gallon and a 5 gallon bucket = 40 lbs ... 10 gallons = 80 lbs and easily obtained and disposable

Ramn4ever, love this idea. We have debated about using tie downs as our awning is electric like yours. What spring, etc. did you use? Any other details? Great mod.

And the flower pots are fabulous. I think I would do herbs as we really like using them.

The spring & strap from camping world or Rv parts store. Our old Rv park wasbelow a large bluff. Hardly any wind. But still wanted to be safe.
