I have recently purchase a 2014 Sunset Trail Reserve 29SS Travel Trailer and for the life of me cant find the manual override for the slide out. No holes in the frame or trailer that look like the manual crank goes into or anything. Any suggestions ?

Thanks

Have you checked with your dealer? On our inspection at time of delivery they showed us the one under the bed and the one outside for the large slide. There should also be cranks in a storage compartment if you in fact have manual operation. Some units the motor has to be disengaged and the slide pushed in manually. Good luck

I have a 2013 st29ss and the slide control is under the fireplace in the entertainment unit. If you need to manually move the slide you disconnect the two white wires, push the slide ( it well take at lest 2 people) and than reconnect them to lock the slide in placeEdited by: hondavalk

Thanks for all the replies. I found the controller as mentioned under the fireplace along with the two white wires to disconnect. I have two cranks in the storage compartment so I thought one of them was used for the slide but apparently not - One for the power tongue and one for the power leveling jacks.

We are also located in Beaumont, Alberta. Our previous trailer did not have a slide and because I purchased the trailer from the states and had it delivered I never had a dealer delivery inspection hence the questions.

If you have any further questions or concerns go to Roadmaster RV in Leduc that is where we bought our Zinger and just ask a few questions and I am sure they will help you out as they were very good to us. They answered a lot of questions when we were buying about slides, winterizing etc.
Good luck with your new unit.

Thanks. They are the closest local dealer for Sunset Trail. Unfortunately they did not stock this model so I had to go to the US a the timeto purchase.

If you go to the crossroads homepage under helpful links is you tube videos on how to "push in" the slides. You have to unscrew one screw and pop up the motor then the slide pushes right in. I had to do it once.

National RV outside Detroit gave me a great walk through on my St29SS. Plus the fact that I've had it a year and fixed or made some mods that if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Can someone help me with the older models - 2005 CT28FB? I can't find anything on the manual operation of the slide. We want to run with the unit later this week and the dealer is booked until next week. I have the crank, how do you manually operate out and in? Thanks

Please don't worry about follow up to my question. I learned enough here to be dangerous. I went out, got my tool out and proceeded to break the shaft that turns to push the slide out. Oh well, each week I learn more about this unit. I love the thing, just hope it's not a money pit. Thanks
