Slide out problem

We have a 2008 Sunset Trail travel trailer and when you push the switch to put in the slide in sometimes nothing happens and sometimes it works a little then quits. Could this be the switch, cause it seems the power is there when we checked it.

could be the switch, could also be the thermal self resetting breaker. These are usually mounted outside on the trailer frame and are prone to corrosion. It could also be a week battery. lots of things to check. Do you have a voltmeter?

It's not the battery. Where do you find the self resetting breaker? Our sides are underneath the camper not on the sides of the slide in.

usually on the trailer frame close to the battery. rectangle piece with two studs sticking out and a wire connections on each stud. sometimes covered with a rubber boot.

Do you know what voltage those thermal resetting breakers are on the 2008 sunset travel trailer?

The voltage would be 12 volt from the battery. The amps are how they are rated. Im not sure, but for slide I would guess 40 or 50 amp

they are usually marked with the amperage number, if it is still readable

Can you put grease on the posts of the thermal self resetting breaker posts to prevent from corroding?

If you want to grease the studs, I would recommend a dyelectric grease. It's made for electrical connections and won't conduct electricity
