slide trim comes loose

The trim on our kitchen/entertainment center slide keeps coming loose from the slide. It started right after we bought the unit two years ago. It has been replaced at the factory because when it was installed a staple was put in crooked and cracked the wood, which continued to split along its length.

It came loose again and my husband glued it back using "No More Nails". It came loose again.

His next attempt will involve a couple of screws and another adhesive called Lepage PL Construction adhesive.

Has anyone had this problem and successfully kept the trim from coming loose in transit?

Nothing wrong with a couple strategically place stainless steel screws.
