We had a great camping trip this past weekend. Everything went great for our second time out. When we got home I tried to run the slide out to give us a little more room to unpack. When I hit the button to run it out all it does is click. It almost sounds like gears slipping or a clutch. I am new to this camper stuff as we have only owned one for a month or so now so I am not real sure what to do. The battery is fully charged and there are no locks on the slide out. We did buy the camper new and it is under warranty but just thought I would check and see if it is something simple that I am missing. Thanks for your time.

Tim

Miight be slightly off adjustment. In order to get it past this issue for now use the extended socket they gave you to manually move the slide. There should be a hole in the trailers skirting OPPOSITE the side the slide is located on. Use the socket and manually move the slide out about a 1/2" then try the motor again, it shoudl work fine.

After that use caution bringing in the slide until a dealer (or you) adjust the slide stopper.

Mine does that sometimes and I have found that if I bump the switch to the in side and then back to the out position the slide will go out.

The bell shaped stop is really easy to adjust. Just make a couple of turns in then run the slide in and out and see if it catches right. If not try a little more until you get it to where the slide will go out without clicking.

Hunter beat me to it. In addition, here is a link to Lippert with the manual:

This sounds like the same issue I had this weekend while camping near Munising, MI. The slideout did not want to go out, so I bumped it back in and then it went most of the way out. I then had to hand crank it after it stopped! Then when we put it away, it came in about 12 inches then CLANG! it would not move and just banged. went down to hand crank it and the pipe was gone, not anywhere to be seen...

Opened up the bottom and found that the motor had come off the frame and had moved about 18 inches down the gear.

We got it in to about 8 inches and limped back home. This morning, I was at the service center when they opened.

This was out first issue and the service center was great.

NOTE: Be-careful when using the hand crank. The pipe sticking thru the frame for the hand crank, it VERY thin. We twisted it right off.

Just got my rig back from the dealer today. All fixed.

They told me that the motor had pulled off the single bracket and twisted the bracket, gear and other mounting pieces. They called the Factory and found that this year there is a new design because of this problem. the new mount is multiple brackets and has a holding strap from what I have been told. they also had to weld a tab onto the frame to hold one of the supports.

So, if you think you have an issue, don't be scared to call in because there seems to be a fix.

Ours is at the shop having the motor replaced now. They say our motor was really weak and was not powerful enough to startthe big slidemoving. Thank goodness for the Good Sam warranty.

Thanks again for the responses. I am back in this same boat. I went out this past weekend and when I got home it started doing the same thing. I went to give it a couple cranks manually and the tube undernieth has some how moved flush with the frame rail. So now it is going back to the shop. I will let you know what I find out.

Yeah I tried the out and in thing as well but didnt seem to make any difference the last couple times I tried. I dropped it off last night so I'll have to wait and see what they tell me.
