Slideout Problems

Why does my Sunset Trail 31 footer slide out have so much trouble going in and out. The two sides move one at a time. Takes 20 or 30 minutes to get it all the way in or all the way out. Dealer fixed it once but that only lasted 1 time. Any ideas? e me at sigmon92@gmail.com

Mine had issues - bed slide - turns out the slide was not manufactured properly. You can see the postings I have made. Lost use of the unit for 6 months - fall of 2012 and fall of 2013. It took multiple times at the dealer to get it right. The slide has been working properly this year so far.

Slide Out

Thanks for the reply. I hope I can get it fixed. The dealer said they fixed it. I think they just reset it. Its parked at a nearby lake for the summer but I am going to give it a try this weekend. Once again, thankx for the reply.

Let us know how you make out.

Part of the problem with our slide was due to there were no rollers installed under the bed so it would drag along the bedroom floor as it went in and out. It would get out of alignment and get stuck going out or stuck going in. One time it took me an hour to get the slide out. Worked good for the weekend but when I got home it failed - chewed up the gears and gear rail.

Adjusting the torque on the motor may help but can lead to early motor failure.

From the manual:
It is desirable to increase the stall force only enough to insure proper functioning of the room. Increasing the setting beyond the amount needed only shortens system life.
