I may have been ok with my Companion hitch, but it would only take one time with a wrong angle to find out that I needed a slider. This way I can relax a bit instead of wondering if I might pull a boo boo while backing into a tight place.
There are a few pads in a campground where I stay that are on a curve and you have to jack knife to get on them. I try to avoid them, but end up there at times. I don't worry about damage to my TV as much as the front of my fiver.
