Anyone have their stabilizers seize up? We have an ST25RB 2012 and after putting the battery in for Spring I found the rear stabilizers don't extend. The motor torques but the stabilizers don't move!

As well notice the fiberglass cap has pulled away from the top side of the unit. Guess they didn't get it fixed right last fall.

Back to the dealer for warranty I guess.......

Ian -- You try to save a little stress on your back, and end up getting a little more stress in you head.

Did you try spraying the hinges on the stabolizers with some nut buster, or try to push down on the stabolizer at the same time you energize the motor

Just a dumb question ....but are you extending or mistkenly hitting the retract? Or did water get into your switch and mess it up? Switches are mounted upside down where they can get shorted.

SleepyT ya you got that right....
Yes I tried penetrating oil but to no avail. There seems to be alot of corrosion right around the threads closest to the motor which is where I sprayed the penetrating oil.

harley, nope crawled under the unit to make sure I was not doing just that.

harley is that a new truck I see in your sig?

As for the switches have you guys done anything to waterproof them? I was going to seal the plug to the switch with waterproof tape and then cover the top of the plug with spray on waterproofing.

Yes it is a new truck . Headed to Newfoundland this summer , so a diesel was in order for my summer truck.. These trailers tow nice with a 1500 , but I figure , go big or go home ....plus its easier on fuel .
Hope you figure out the problem .Also check how tightly the wire is strapped to the motor. They have a tendency to just pull it over and tie it to the frame where ever it ends up . I loosened mine and found that the rubber boot that is supposed to waterproof the motor was cracked....silicone time.
You can buy spray that waterproofs electrical components ('fluid film' rings a bell) to spray on the back of the switch ...I'll be doing that soon.

We did the same truck upgrade as you can see from my new signature. Better on fuel and we love it.
