"Stereo" doesn't come on
We seldom use the music or TV, but tonight we decided to watch a DVD that we had brought along. The stereo would not come on, either with the remote or manually. Of course, without that, we had no audio or ability to play the DVD. No apparent fuse is out. Any suggestions on what to look for? I probably won't do much fooling with it until I get home this weekend, but a place to start would be good. It has worked in the past but it has probably been 6 months since it was on. I think it is a Genesis, which I have never heard of. Of course, it is probably out of warranty too since the unit is a year old.

Never mind. Found a blown fuse in the power line of the unit itself. Had to wiggle my way under the sink to find it and replace, but at least I have power now.

It comes on now, but now the DVD is stuck in the unit... won't load nor eject. Not having a good evening.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the power to the unit.

When our RCA DV went out, I had to remove the cover to extract a cd.

Yeah, turns out I had to remove the unit completely, take off the covers, and "coax" the DVD out. All back together now, but it seems as if the unit is not going to load a CD or DVD now. So, I expect I will just replace the entire thing. I'm starting another thread asking for recommendations. The radio works on this one, but I do like to put in a CD every once in a while.

Is it a Genesis 2.0 or a Jensen? I had a Jensen that didnT get AM ,Crossroads didn't have any left as the switched to Genisis,so I just sent a nice email to Jensen and they shipped me a new one n/c,only prob was they had to go thru a dealer.
maybe try that......

Wayne, it is a Genesis 2.0. Has some nice features, but if the CD player doesn't work, well... I kind of hate going through the hassle of figuring out the wiring if I get a different unit though. Might be under warranty, I just bought this rig last January. But I doubt it, probably just barely over a year.
