Strange CO2 question

Been running the A/C for about 6 hours. Out of no where the CO2 detector starts beeping once every 30 seconds or so. I turn of the A/C and the beeping stops. The questions is why????? It's 100 here in south Texas. I need to turn on the A/C.
I have not turned on the gas at all and it's on a 2012 Hill Country.

Not sure why it would go off when you turn the AC off - strange. Mine beeps every 30 seconds when it need new batteries. May want to change e batteries and see if that works.

It's a wall unit. Any idea where the batteries are?

Mine just has two double AA batteries and part of the front comes off.

There is nothing on the front that pops off on mine and the owners manual doesn't help.

Dave, see if it might twist out of a mounting bracket like the smoke detector does and the batteries are on the back side of it. Ours is mounted on the bedroom wall and has a small panel on the front that comes off and takes 3 AA batteries.

I took the base plate off and unscrewed it from the wall. No batteries were to be found.

In our previous travel trailer our CO2/ propane detector was hard wired - no batteries. Strange things would set it off like hairspray. Wife would get it beeping every morning when she got ready. Off gassing of certain items in new trailers - adhesives, new Lino or new furniture. I have even heard of smelly sneakers setting these detectors off. Strange but true.

Yep. Just confirmed with Crossroads, no battery back up. Wonder if there is dust or something on the sensor.

I would not take a chance on it, I would have it replaced under your warranty.

My co2 sniffer has 3 batteries. Plate on the front comes off for access. LP sniffer is hard wired.

No batteries in mine either, it is hard wired 12v and does propane and co2. Last two trailers have been the same.

I guess things have changed since we bought our unit. We have a CO2 sniffer on the wall about head high in our bedroom that runs off batteries and an LP sniffer that is hard wired mounted in the wall down low as you start up the stairs to go to the bathroom/bedroom area.

Sounds like a power issue... would definitely replace if can't replace batteries. You can get a battery powered unit for about twenty bucks.

Just for clarification, this is a CO monitor, not a CO2 monitor. CO2 is a by product of respiration. CO is a by product of combustion and is deadly. Everyone probably knew that, just felt the need to clarify. Get one you can put batteries in until you can replace or figure out whats going on with your hard wired unit for safety.

Thanks for the heads- up. A vast difference between the two gases. Lots of us know that and we still say CO2
