I have a 2001 Crossroads Prep Series 33. The exterior walls, at the rear slide, are beginning to show stress cracks at each of the four corners of the slide. The stress cracks are on the main exterior wall, not the slide. The stress cracks are extending diagonally from each corner, away from the slide opening. The cracks are about 3 inches, or so, right now. Is there any experience, or are there any suggestions as the best methods and materials to use to repair this? Also, would this suggest any improper use, causing the damage to the exterior wall?

I'm not sure about improprer use but you need to stop the spresd of the cracks by drilling a hole in the ends of the cracks. Since this is Fylon fiberglass you should be able to find a repair kit at an auto parts store or the dealer, maybe even online.

If it were mine I would give the Crossroads repair facility a call or take it to a local dealer you trust and see what they suggest you do for a fix. There has to be a reason all four corners of the slide are crackingand I would want that repaired before doing anything else to it. Keep us informed on the issue.

Frank, you are correct about the metal clips and I think there was a post about that on the old forum. I seem to remember seeing one on rv.net as well.
