Hi folks.
I have a 2013 Keystone Montana with a Suburban water heater. When what we call the 'red dot' comes on next to the switch, I know I am either out of propane or have a water heater problem.
What happens is the electronic pilot lights the burner tube, yet, will not shut off. It continues to click click click through the 3 attempts to light the burner and then shuts down?
Any ideas?
Sounds like the burner is not getting gas. Check the burner tube for spider webs. Double check that the propane tank valves are open and that you're not out of propane.
Thanks, Russ. It's a full bottle. We've lived aboard 4 years now, and have had lots occur. I've just never seen this.
Perhaps I didn't make myself clear the first time: the pilot ignites the gas,; however , the pilot continues to try to light the burner which is already lit. It doesn't stop.
Remove the black reset button cover & check for pinched/cut wires. On mine I had to trim the cover about a 1/4", fold down the metal under the cover, repair wires & replace the 12 volt thermostat as the cover & metal had the wires pinched against the tank & shorted out the thermostat. May not be your problem, but it's a place to start.
