I've never tried it and have no idea what it cost but I do know that plain old wet dryer sheets will take off love bugs. Down is South Louisiana we have to deal with them twice a year and I know for sure this works.

Soap, water, a sponge, and elbow grease will remove any bug. What's special about this sponge?

I'm always trying to find the best way to clean the 5ver. I too saw the love bug in trailer life. So I bought it and tried it out this weekend. It worked really well on the 800 miles worth of bugs on the front cap. The bugs came off pretty easy I was very impressed.
