TPMS

I was installing the valve stem sensors yesterday. (I remove them for the winter)
Out of curiosity, I was wondering what shape the batteries might be. I took the caps off a couple of them and the o ring disintegrated. Now what?
I have the TST 507. I know their web site say's you can call them 24/7 but being Easter I decided to send an email figuring I would hear from him today. Well it wasn't long and I had an answer from Chip. (owner) He informed me that I had a little plastic envelope that came with the system containing extra screws, orings, etc. I dug out the box and sure enough, there they were.
I just want to let anybody know, who is considering a TPMS to give him a look. Service like that is hard to find in today's world.
If anybody wants a link, ask an I will post it.

Hi Lloyd, I found that out also. I replaced mine recently figuring once a year is good, even if the batteries have some life left. I also had two "o" rings that fell apart when I disassembled it. I fortunately had the tool needed for the disassembly and instructions in with the spare "o" rings. They are kinda tuff to stretch into place though. I reused the ones that didn't fall apart. Good FYI post.

I got tired of replacing the o-rings & started using a dab of dielectric silicone on the threads, so far so good.

Do you mean the dielectric grease like used on electrical connections? OR, do they have a dielectric silicone also?

I didn't get the flow thru sensors strictly because of the added length sticking out.

I don't have the flo-thru and am well satisfied. Easy to remove to add air.

I went with non-flo through also. I've read about issues with the flow through on occasional leaking. Also, I take mine off when done with trip to save battery anyway, and always air up before trip as needed. Rarely do I need to add air during trips. I also removed the security feature, so removing the sensor is easy for me (I know Lloyd does this also).

Expect your sensors to read psi slightly off. As long as you know it, you get used to it (say 2-3 lower than actual), and you look for abnormalities. I've been very pleased with mine. Piece of mind!

I went with the non flow through sensors.

Metal valve stems are a must and I was concerned about hitting a sensor on a curb and braking the valve stem.

I also have an older truck so have sensors on it. There are times I get into deep mud and snow and was worried it would damage a flow through sensor as they stick out beyond the tire side wall.

I chose the non because on my dually tires the stems line up to each other & doesn't leave a lot of room. Also removed security devices, they were just a PITA.

I can't stand to see the stats go so strong in one direction, so I have to reply too. I've been using the flo-thru for 3 years.

Ordered non-flow thru, can't wait to try them out on my upstate New York trip. If they arrive in time.
