Transporters

This past weeked we saw a lot of new trailers being shipped to dealers and noticed how these "expert" transporter haul our new trailers so far out of level, nose way low. We weekend worriors,snow birders,or full timers try to make the rig be just perfect and these guys just grab and go. Wouldn't you think they would use a hitch with a fast adjustment to get it at least within 6" of level? There are some posts of people having exessive tire wear mabe it was hauled wrong?



Just curious to what some repies will be.

I have seen these guys doing 70 on the hiway. They don't care about anything except going from point A to point B as fast as they can - regardless of bumps and road conditions. There are probably some good drivers out there but those I have seen seem to be oblivious.

I know of one hauler I met last year, not sure of the brand of hitch he has, but it is completely hydraulic and travels up and down at least 6 inches (couldn't imagine what its worth either). But like mentioned above, time is money for them and they just want to un hook and get the next trailer.

They are independent haulers and they only get paid to deliver a unit, the return trip is the drivers expense and they haul any brand they can hook up too, the idea is to get it to the dealer as fast as possible and then get back for another unit to deliver, and your right they aren't very concerned about the unit they just need to deliver as mant as they can as quick as they can...from what I understand and have been told it's not a very lucrative way to make a living, alot of guys who drive are retired and looking to make a few extra bucks....

When I investigated hauling part time a few years ago after retiring, I decided I would hardly break even considering all expenses involved! Can't imagine doing that full time!
