Truck Tire recommendation

Looking for recommendations for my 2006 Ram 2500. Currently has Wranglers on it, LT265/70R17. Original tire was Michelin. Truck has 117K on it, no idea when the Wranglers were put on. Hauling a 2016 Sunset Trail Reserve. Would appreciate hearing from others on a quality tire. Thanks.

I put a set of Cooper AT3 285/70 R17 E on mine just before winter. Nice ride and great traction. The last set of Cooper Discover AT wore like iron, hope these do the same. Also went up a size to fill the wheelwell better.

I've got Firestone Transforce HT tires on my '14 Ram 2500. They're the stock tires. Don't have enough miles on them to judge longevity yet. But they're the first stock tires I've had in a long time that I didn't have a burning desire to replace as soon as possible. So far, so good.

As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing wrong with the brand of tire you have on there now.

I'm with Lloyd...I installed Michelin LTX/2 and am real happy with them. Solid ride and great reputation. Our local Airport shuttle van uses them and they get over 100K out of them.

I'm in the market for new tires on my Ram 2500 4x4 as well. About to pull the trigger on a set of Michelin LTX M/S 2.
I don't go off road and it doesn't snow much here in south Texas.
Wanted something with a good highway tread, in hopes of a smoother ride, as I've put almost 18k miles on it in less than a year of owning it.
Also hope to improve my MPG with a highway tread.

The aggressive treads can make for a rougher ride and in fact lower mpg by about 1-2 mpg due to increased rolling resistance. Going up a size will too.

Hard to beat Michelin's. They were original equipment on my F350....Good ride and I have 56,000 miles on them so far. Looks like I may have another 5K on them. I will replace with same tire.

Just checked prices for Tansforce on Mavis tire. The HT tread is about $40 cheaper per tire than the AT tire. For my F150 that's $153 for HT vs $192 for AT tire.

X 3 on the Michelin LTX M/S 2. Had good performance with these on my last truck.

Put a set of cooper AT3 on my 3500HD worked great for the winter - first tow will be next month.

LTX M/S 2, had them on my last truck and couldn't wear them out. After 7 yrs they were showing some signs of sidewall cracking and while I hated to replace them with so much tread left, I didn't want to take a chance with the amount of towing I do. Put cheaper tires on since I knew I wasn't going to keep the truck another 7 yrs.

When it comes time to replace the OEM tires on my present truck, it will be LTX M/S 2 again.

I've got Michelin LTX A/T2s on my truck and they've performed very well. Been running them since 2011. Michelins are getting so high, though, that I am considering trying Toyo the next time I buy a set. I have friends who run Toyos on their 3/4 ton trucks and they talk highly of them.

I think there is a little confusion here.
I wasn't recommending the Michelin tire.
The op has Wranglers on the truck right now. The last I knew, Wrangler was a Goodyear tire.

Shopped around a lot, and got a great set of HT's for my Titan from Yokahama. They look good (raised white letters), fairly quiet, handle nice, and have a 70,000 mile warranty. Have about 2,000 miles on them now. They were about $50 less per tire than the other brand names.
