TV - sat/cable/air

Ok going over the new 5er, I swear things have changed some what I guess. So, went out to go over the TV and noticed I have no booster button behind the TV for the roof antenna. I have two coax connections. One I'm sure one is for the SAT hookup and one is for cable? Or maybe one is for SAT and the other is for cable/Air. So, I guess they don't use the booster button anymore? I have a strange feeling like I did when I was a newbie 18 years ago. So the coax connections are as follows but there's no label to tell which one is which. And of course the Owners Manual doesn't tell you anything about the roof antenna except to use the booster button?? I feel like a virgin again. LOL

Ted, don't feel bad. I do have the booster for the antenna, but I still can't figure what I'm doing wrong with the cable connection. I get satellite but no cable. I have a couple months under warranty, so when I get back from this trip I may bring it to the dealer's attention.

When you run cable, you need to turn off the booster

Look behind the bedroom tv or in bedroom cabinet near tv, you have to have the booster unless they just had a brain fart & didn't install it.

Found it. It was at the 12 v plug in the bedroom on the ceiling. Black like the cover. I had looked before. This time I rubbed my hand across it and ther it was. Thanks

What kind of a deal did you have with that new rig when you picked it up? The dealer apparently didn't give you much of a PDI when you took delivery.

That's the heck of. If it isn't one thing or another, it's two.

The only time us men read instructions is when there are parts left over

There's never parts left over. I always find some where for them to go. And who needs instructions. LOL

Sorry, but I don't know what a booster button does or even where it is - but I am hooking up a satellite so I need to ask. It appears to me that the extra coax port behind the tv is where I plug the tv in when I want to watch the satellite - the other is for the regular park cable connection. The connection in the basement was marked satellite - no problem there. Since the receiver powers the sat "egg" I hope I don't blow a fuse or damage the converter system when I make the connection. Am I missing something?

A booster button is used for your roof antenna when picking up air channels. It boost the air antenna signal. There is a tiny black button that you push in; a light beside it turns green letting you know it's on.
