I have to replace the tires on our 3/4 ton 2002 Suburban. I have Firestones on it now which are original, but one of them is developing a bubble on the tread (39,000 miles). In your opinion what are the best tires out there for towing. These are load range e tires.

Thanks

When I had a Suburban Iput Michelin LTXtires on it. Great tires and long wearing.A friend had recommended them. I put 40,000 miles on them before selling the S'burban and they had barelyworn.

The tires on my current TV are near the end so Ihope tobe getting a set of the Michelins for it before the snow flies... When I got them for my Suburban was about 7 years ago andthey were around $175 a tire at Discount Tire. The ones for my truck will be about $210 at Costco.

You should get many different answers to your question and all will be good. I run BFG Rugged Trail TA load range E on my truck but I also do some off roading. In fact we have BFG on my wifes truck and the trailer. They have a $70 rebate per set through Discount Tire.

I had Bridgestones on our 2004, 3/4 ton. They wore rapidly and had to be replaced after approximately 25,000 mi of towing. I replaced them with the Michelins which now have over 30,000 mi of towing and still going strong. Costco offerred the best price.

Do not buy the Wrangler SilentArmor Pro-Grade tires. I put them on my TV and they are wearing out fast. 2 of them have less than 50% of their tread left after 4000 miles. I went back to where I bought them and was told, "not to worry they have a 50,000 mile wear out warranty, just rotate them and keep the reciept." Other than them wearing, they seem to beok tires. I have only towed the 5ver about 1000 miles with these tires.

My truck came from the factory with BFG Rugged Trail TA and they have been good as well. They are close to 65k and will reach 70k before replaced. A good truck tire should last longer than a car tire, less revolutions per mile. These are good tires and if the $$$'s aren't there for the Michelin's come October, I will not hesitate to mount up another set of the Rugged Trails. I just found the Michelins were a little better in the snow. Of course that was on a Suburban with a bit more weight in the back.
