unknown water pipes

We have some friends staying in our driveway with their 5er which they purchased this year. He showed some water pipes in the basement which still have pink anti-freeze in them. He could not figure out where they went, since the rest of the unit was de-winterized two months ago.

Then he noticed some pipes under the bathroom vanity which go nowhere. Two pipes come in from the floor and service the faucet, but two more come up and are capped. He figures this is where these pipes come up.

He is confused as to why the manufacturer would send pipes into that area and then cap them off. By the way, this is a Cougar, not a Crossroads, but I was hoping maybe someone could shed light on this mystery.

Is his unit supposed to be prepped for washer and dryer?

Could be some models have two sinks?. They may run the extra lines whether they need them or not. Seen it happen in other units.

Photo to clarify initial post. And the other two pipes with antifreeze in them could be the low point drains.

Sorry for the junk, not my trailer. Our friend is trying to get into the Cougar forum now, but it does not appear to be as good as this one.

If it were for a washer rough-in, one would expect to find it in a different spot, like a closet, as this is in the bathroom. There is no room for a second sink. On the other side of the wall from the bathroom is the bedroom. This is a Cougar 324 RLB, a very unique trailer.

I will update if the answer is found. Thanks for the input. Off on another outing next week with limited internet.

The Cougar forum indicated it might be a check valve for the black tank flush. It appears to be separate from the potable water system, which begs the question, do people winterize this separately?

I just checked in our trailer, and there are also extra two pipes. The difference is that in ours, there is a blue one, a red one (cold and hot most likely) and two white ones which you cannot see through. The two white ones are capped and the reason we never saw it before is because they are at the rear and capped in the area of the top shelf. You have to really get down and look to find them.

If you look in the basement storage, you can see all four pipes coming from the bathroom, then disappearing into the ceiling of the storage (which is also the bedroom floor).

There is nothing in the manual about winterizing them.

When I noticed those in my unit I asked Terry, the RV Doctor. He indeed said it was the check valve for the black tank flush system.

Travel well, travel safe,
Jim

That explains why mine dribbles a little water when I unhook the hose, emptying the line to the breaker.

DITTO
Each time I used our black tanks EZ Flush the associated check valve and vacuum breaker that were located under the bathroom sink would squeal.
The very thought of that plastic vacuum breaker leaking into the living space prompted me to move them to the basement ceiling where they work just fine.
YES. I winterize them separately.
