I plan to send this to Crossroads to determine if it is under warranty, but I thought I would post here first.

In April, we were out camping and it was raining pretty good, also a Tornado warning in the area we were in but that is a whole different story. We got a bunch of rain coming in around the slide, which caused the carpet to get wet. We had towels around it and kept switching them out to try to keep the carpet dry, I thought all was well until last week.

I checked the area often, and about a month ago, I noticed that the wood trim piece started to bulge out quite a bit. Now it really starting to split on the sides and bulge real bad. It is only about the bottom 12-16 inches of the wooden trim piece.

Does anyone know if this is part of the warranty ? Both the water leak into the interior of the unit and the water damage to the wood trim piece. I have not even had the unit a year yet, so I am under the 2 year warranty.

Any help is appreciated,
Thanks
SAM

Because Crossroads is so generous with their warranty coverage I wouldn't be surprised if they chose to cover this, but what you have described is not a manufacturing defect, rather it is storm damage. Â*That makes it an insurance claim and is not Crossroads responsibility.

The water should not have come in the trailer. You have an 08 soI would say warranty coverage. I agree with papa2 that Crossroads should have this taken care of.

Depending on the weather conditions this may be a warranty claim or an insurance claim. If you were in a wind-swept storm with 40 MPH wind driven rain then you are pushing the design of a slide seal.

If this was a typical rain storm with occasional gusts then the warranty should take care of this.

Is this the only time the slide ever leaked or has it leaked on/off since buying it? If all this damage was caused by one incident and has never reoccured then you should consider filing a claim on the insurance.

To be honest, I did not even consider this being an insurance deal. But to clarify, it was just a steady medium rain fall. There was no heavy wind or heavy rain, at least in Kansas standards anyway.

Thanks for replies, I will send something to Tara and see what she has to say.

Chances are the slide needs adjusting. If that is the case then the warranty should cover it.
