water heater

Hello,

I just recently bought my TT a 2006 zinger 2710bh, my water heater panel inside have a electric and propane switches, when turn on propane it works but the electric side does not appear to work. I noticed when I put drain plug back in it, it was only a plug, did not have rod that goes up in opening from what I been told? Could this be why it does not heat up and do I need a battery hooked up?

New to rv's world.
Thanks

Electric takes longer to heat up, and if you ever turned it on without water in the tank, it is toast. The drain plug is just a drain plug. Atwood water heaters have aluminum tanks and do not require an anode rod.

You should be able to feel warm water in about 15 minutes. Usually takes about 20 minutes or so for hot water with propane and a little longer with electric.
