Water issue

Good morning.
I live in my 5th Wheel full time in a 55+ park. I think I have a valve stuck - when I am hooked up to the city water, it started over flowing my holding tank. From what I have read, there are valves on either side of the water pump that are suppose to stop this. Does anyone know anything about this. I don't want call the repair guy out if this is something I can take care of.
Thanks
Michelle

There is a check valve in the pump. Try unhooking to city water and using the pump for a while to see if it releases the sticky check valve. You have to use up the water in tank anyways.

Thanks, I had to unhook the city water and use the pump to get my holding take to quit overflowing.
The pump is now making a sound like it is tying to start running when I don't have any facets turned on??
So now every time I have to use the water I have to turn on the pump, do what ever I need to do and turn it back off.
I have been using the pump and holding tank for a couple of weeks now and when I try to hook the city water back up, it still overflows the holding tank.

If you're talking about the fresh water holding tank, it sounds like the check valve is stuck open. You can try to put another check valve onto the line if you're sure the pump isn't bad.

Thanks so much. Not sure how to do this, but I'm sure one of my friends can help.
It' better than calling the 1 guy that does mobile repair, he charges $98 just to come out before any work gets done.
I could always buy this and have him come out to install it. I did that with my rear Jack motor.
