Water pooling on slide awning

Hello,

Just took our first trip in our 2014 Sunset Trail 32RL. Although I've owned camping trailers for 25 years, this is the first one with slide outs!

When we packed up to go home, I noticed water pooled on the awning over the living room slide from rain earlier in the week. Is this normal? It seemed to roll up just fine.

Thanks for your expertise.

Greg

It is normal. I saw a thread where someone placed partially deflated beach ball under the awning to pitch it up.

The water will all drain off as you close the slide. Sometimes most of it will blow off due to high winds. If you do any cold weather camping, sleet or ice can build up and the weight could tear the fabric, in which case, closing the slide slowly will also clean most of that off. But don't let it accumulate too much before retracting the slide.

Just roll it out when you get the chance and let it dry.

The sofa dinette slide awning on ours gathers more than that - will blow off with the breeze or when the slide is put in.
