Water Pump Very Noisy

We have a 2010 189QB. Our water pump sounds like I am cutting thru an unsupported quarter inch plywood panel. Not friendly in the middle of the night. Any suggestions?

Many have changed out their pumps for quieter ones. Hopefully, they will answer and tell you which ones are best.

Are you sure it is the pump and not the water lines vibrating in the wall? I had to go through my rig and insulate the lines where they were touching the walls, cabinets, etc. Made my noise level go way down.

Our water pump was extremely noisy too that came in our rv. It was an Artis Industries water pump. I tried a couple of different things to try and make it quieter but nothing seem to help. I ended up replacing it with a Shurflo 4008. I also insulated all the pipes that are up against the walls, replaced some of the hard lines and the line coming from the out feed side of the pump with soft lines and mounted the pump on a piece of foam rubber. Now there are times where I have to listen really close to hear if the pump is running or not. Also there is a lot less cycling and better water flow. The Artis pump was rated at 3.0 GPM and 40 PSI where the Shurflo is 3.0 GPM and 55 PSI.

You should be able to turn it off at night. There will be enough pressure in the lines to get you through a flush or two. Then turn it back on in the morning.

It's a great habit to only turn it on when you actually need it. I've seen a couple of people over the years return to camp at the end of a day's outing and find their fresh tank empty and their rig flooded because a pressurized line came loose.

I upgraded my pump in our 2009, to one of the Shurflo 4.0 smart sensor pumps...very quite and a nice boost in pressure too..well worth the investment. Will most likely be doing this mod on the new Rushmore as well...
