We are plugged into city water at a campground and when we turn the water on to use it has roaring sound. But only when using the hot water, makes no sound when usuing cold water. Anyone got any idea what the problem is. Thanks

W.A.G. Could it be the check valve in the back of the WH?

the valve that I worked on seems to shut off the hot water from the rig and then there is no noise with the cold water, so turned it back again I have hot water and the noise, would you say this value has to be changed to a new one

Is your hw tank completely filled? Could the noise you hear, but the air exiting and the tank filling?

The check valve is sometimes built into the outlet of the WH. The valve you turned was for the winterization by-pass.

Put your hand on the outlet fitting on the WH and have someone else turn on the water. If you can feel some vibration with your hand it is probably the check valve vibrating as water goes through. Not really a problem, just the noise.

Thank you, Yes I did that and there was not much vibration butmore further down the hose. Also when the cold water is running there is no noise turn it over to the hot and the noise is there again. Also the noise is louder when you have the tap on full forse, let it off abit and the noise is a bit less

Thanks for your help

Yes it seems to be coming from the hot water hose from the tank so I guess we will live with the noise. Thanks again

It sounds like a water hammer. Let the water run and make sure all the air is out of the lines. It will help if you open all the hot water faucets so all the lines clear out.

That should help.

I had a water line that did that when running on the pump. Pulsations from the pump made it vibrate. I took some foam pipe insulation and put around the pipe in the area that was touching to reduce the noise.
