Weight of mattress on slide out

We're looking at purchasing a new mattress but questioned if the weight of the new mattress was a factor as the bed is on a slide out. I did contact CR Customer Service and got a generic answer to not buy a heavier one. Has anyone else had concerns about items that sat on the slide out while it was going in/out? A Tuft and Needle queen size lists at 78 lbs which doesn't seem like a lot but we do have the Lippert slides.

I would doubt the added weight is of concern. The slide is designed to support two people sleeping on it as well as the mattress weight, so a few more pounds for the better mattress shouldn't affect anything.

Plus the slide only goes out so far, the majority of it is supported inside the bedroom.

If the weight of a mattress affected the slide out I think I would find a different camper.

We just replaced our mattress with this one..."Christopher Knight Home Aloe Gel Memory Foam 8-inch Queen-size Smooth Top Mattress" from overstock.com. No springs, just 3 layers of different types of foam. Not as heavy as regular mattress and it is really comfortable. Much easier to lift the bed.
