I intend to use some form of wheel chocks on my fiver. It would seem to me that ones that lock would be an additional deterrent to theft. Do they make something like this that locks?
I use the same ones, and although I have never locked them, I am quite happy with the performance. They really help secure the trailer against movement.
Those look something like what I had in mind. Is there a way to lock them in place so that you would need a key or combination to remove them? If not, I think that I could modify them for that purpose.
Gary, it is not visible in the picture, but there is a hole through the threaded main rod that any standard long shank pad or combination lock will work with.
I purchased one of the X-Chocks but have not used it yet. I was hoping one would do the job...we'll see. If not I'll be buying another one for the other side.
It looks very well made and I'll be locking mine so it does not sprout legs and walk away!
I also have the X-chock. They work great. BAL the makers of X-chock also make a padlock with the right size shackle for the chocks. We sometimes purchase seasonal sights and this just gives a sense of security. We own 2 chocks.
We use the ratcheting type without the lock. They work fine. Besides, if someone wants to steal the trailer, all they have to do is deflate the tires and pop it off. You can't stop a determined thief. We do use a coupler lock when we leave it for more than a few days.
Luckily we can park in our driveway during the off season.
I Know, but at least it slows them down!!!! We use a padlock on the coupler both at home { we are able to store at home} and when parked at Campground. Happy Camping.
