White Gaskets??????

Has anyone found a good way to clean the white gaskets around the slideouts?I Have a 2012 cruiser the gaskets are already looking very dirty, cant find anything (yet) to clean them very good. They are rubber and I would hate to damage them. Why can't they use black gaskets?

I have always used WD40 to clean ours and 303 Protectant to treat them. I believe the newer ones come with black seals.

Seriously - white gaskets are the WORST idea ever.

I was told that Ronson lighter fluid does a great job. Haven't tried it yet.

I use paint thinner then apply some silicone spray to prevent sticking. However, I think the silicone spray attracts some of the dirt. I believe someone else on here has mentioned to apply some baby powder with a rag. I am going to try that next time.
I wish they were black too--- would be alot less maintenance.

Let them go, they turn black on their own <grin>
Just kidding.
White rubberized anything is a dumb idea as it is bound to turn black sooner or later.
Windex with vinegar doesn't do a bad job but does leave black spots where it is embedded into the material.
