We have a CF30SK Cruiser and the bedroom window redcrank handle broke. For now we have to open and close the window usinf a screw driver. It underlines one of my pet peeves that is items where thereis ahigh stress area should not be made of PLASTIC, particularly ones where the material has been reduced by a hollow shaft. Has anyone had this happen? I think our only option is to go to the local dealer and have one (probably two) ordered. I would love to have one made out of metal but I don't have the ability to do so. I think even a hard wood such as oakwould be better but getting the spline for the shaft would be tough.

I had the same red plastic crank handle break a few years ago. I replaced it with a metal one I found at the local hardware store. You have to find one that doesn't protrude too much that it gets in the way of the shades.

Mine are round flat knobs. The style shown can also be bought with longer shanks for roof vents.
