Crossroads and Lippert Axle will not stand by there product. I just got off the phone with Crossroads and everything that they don't make only has a 1yr warranty. So that means that the hot water heater, rear jacks and axles only have the manufacturer warranty and in this case that is 1yr. Anyone want to buy this piece of crap for a 5th wheel.

[our passenger slide has come apart from the wall, the bed is broken from the wall and on the kitchen slide the seals are detached from the slide.]

They can claim what they want on the componets but the partabove in your other post is on them and needs to be repaired now. I don't know what your axle issue is since you did not state it but the issues above are going to make your trailer a hard sell if not fixed. If you let this slide a couple more months and you are out of warranty it will be on your dime. Start pushing Crossroads and your dealer now.

It Sucks but this is the standard in the RV industry....maybe if Lippert didn't make such crap, warranty wouldn't be such an issue.

The axle equalizer is what broke in the middle of Utah and I had it fixed but was hoping that Lippert or Crossroads would stand by there product. The slide and other stuff I will take to the dealership in Denver and get fixed at the end of July. I don't feel like the dealership has done anything wrong but the camper they sell is a piece of crap.

Posting on all the forums here is overkill. I know you are dissatisfied with your Crossroads but if you post on General rv questions most of us will see it. Too bad you had this bad experience. Hope it all works out for you. Like others said, you have a two year warranty, push the issue with Crossroads and Lippert. Good luck.

I've already made my mind up that when I buy my next new RV, I will make sure it doesn't have any Lippert components. That doesn't guarantee a trouble-free experience, but there are better frame and suspension manufacturers out there than Lippert. I didn't form that opinion from reading posts, but you can visually see that Lippert builds their units to the minimum standards.

The two units at the top of our full time unit list are the Excel Winslow and Lifestyle RV for that very reason. They make their own frames. Plus I like the Rhino Lined roof option on the Excel. Lifetime warranty and no more caulking. We still have the DRV Mobile Suites on the list even though it is a Lippert frame because I have not found where they have had any frame issues and it is a fully boxed 15" frame.

Keith,
We were camping at Twin Ells, in Plattsburgh, NY recently and there was a DRV Mobil Suites next to us. It was pretty obvious how nicely built they are, it had 4 slides, 6 stabilizers, and a full body paint job. He was also hauling it with a Freightliner that he paid $80k for. No offense, it is a gorgeous unit, but if I'm going to haul 39 feet of unit, and I need that much truck to haul it with, then I'm going with a class A. I love my CR don't get me wrong; matter of fact we're heading to the factory rally in a week from today. But, if I'm going to spend $100k + on a fifth wheel, and need a 450 or 550 to haul it, no way. On my present trip we have put 1,500 miles on the CR and 4,500 on the truck. I would just as soon get 8mpg on a Class A and haul a Honda and get 34mpg for that other 3,000 miles. It just makes more sense. Now, having said all that, I know absolutely nothing about class A's and wouldn't no where to start looking, so I'll stick with what I've got for now.

Thanks for listening, travel well,
Jim

Jim, if he was towing his with a Freightliner he either had one of the units over 40' long or he was doing it just because he wanted to or liked to spend money. Any of their units in the 36' to 38' range can be towed with a 1 ton dually like mine. Most of the people on the DRV forum are pulling theirs with duallies.

"The axle equalizer is what broke in the middle of Utah and I had it fixed but was hoping that Lippert or Crossroads would stand by there product."

Had a trailer dealer(not RV) raise my 2010 Cruiser. Took him 6 weeks because equalizers were cracking and tried to get them replaced under warranty. Lippert and CR both said they were added aftermarket.
In 2010 one of the specs on sheet were equalizers. Wouldn't cover them. Turned out they were 3500lb equalizers for a GVWR of over 10000 lbs.
