Hello all - just found this site last night and registered this morning. We are picking up our new Sunset Trail 220RB this afternoon. We had been looking off and on for a while with the intent to upgrade from our present Starcraft Hybrid trailer, and the 220RB seemed to fit the bill. I'm a little nervous about pulling and backing something 6 feet longer than what we have now, but I'll take it slow and easy. We already had a trip planned down to a state park in Florida next week, so we will be taking the maiden voyage then.

Welcome Don......If the new rig is 6ft longer it will be easier to back that your old rig. I have issues with anything less that about 10-12' but a 30' TT or 5er is a piece of cake!

Thanks for the welcoming messages. Unfortunately, I didn't get to pick up the new unit today since the bank sent the check to my home instead of the dealer. But, I have the check in hand now and will leave work a bit early to take delivery. Anxious to get it on the road next week. I'll be pulling it a little over 225 miles to a campground (and site) that we have visited before. Looking forward to all the extra room. 
Appreciate the comment about easier to back as well. Hope that is the case for me too.

thats a big maiden voyage. A lot of us like to stay close to home for that. But good luck and take your time. Hopefully you are close to wal mart.

welcome to the forum .lots of nice people with a wealth of info . we havean o9 Sunset Trail 27 RB.
we enjoy it very much . our maiden voyage was fro Pa. to northern Fl. we didn't have one single problem . as others have stated , a longer camper is easier to back than a shorter one . just pull ahead of your site farther than you would have with you previous rig . when backing , get your camper turned to the campsite and follow it in with you TV. you will be fine . have a good trip

Happycampers- if we had not already had this trip planned, we probably would have stayed closer to home. Maybe things will go well. I will get the unit for sure this afternoon

Hi. don't get yourself worked up. You have previous experience towing. Trust you instincts be patient and do a thorough check list, pay attention to proper tire inflation. Hopefully you read this b-4 you pick up your unit so you can press your dealer to answer any and all questions.
I personally don't feel 225 miles is unreasonable. You won't get much of an experience going 10 miles to a campground. Take some xtra time and stop often. You are embarking on a new and wonderful experience relax and enjoy.

Warranty work - contact crossroads and then the RV dealer. You won't get it fixed any faster but you may avoid the run around from the RV dealer.

Socoguy - thanks for the reassurance. My comment was a little tongue in cheek about not even buying it, not cancelling the trip. I picked it up today, no problem getting it home. I could tell a difference in pulling, but I think once I get the Equilizer adjusted it won't be quite as noticeable. Lots to do this Saturday to get ready for the trip. Also didn't have a lot of trouble getting it backed into the driveway.

well, like everyone else has said, just take it easy and proper tire inflation in very important. If you haven't tried ALL of the appliances yet, try them out on the first trip.
